Gavin James is the man at the heart of GJMultimedia. He has been photographing horse racing as a professional since October 2002. However, his passion for racing and for photography stretches back to the 70's and 80's...

Gavin's interest in photography was born as he started to take holiday snaps when he was about 7 years old. This soon developed into a love of black and white photography and hours of his school career in the darkroom, dodging and burning, with hands in the dev and fix.

He specialised in Digital Imagery, combining photography, video and the relatively early days of computer based imagery. This led to a creative position at Two Way TV, the leading interactive TV pioneers based in London.

After 8 years there, experiencing how business can and can't succeed, he finally felt ready to embark on turning his dream of becoming a professional photographer into a reality. The natural area to specialise in was, of course, horse racing...
